#28 BAPTISM

Open a bank account. Seek approval for a credit card. Apply for a passport. Make an application for a driver’s license. Plan to get married. In all these, you will need to produce one important piece of information. Proof of your age. That is where a Birth Certificate comes in handy. It will tell you when you were born, where were you born and who were you born to. None of us can remember the events surrounding our natural birth, but it is a very important date because it marks our entry into the world and into a family. Baptism is like that, but it is a second birth. It too marks our official entry into a family— the family of God.
