#49 STEWARDSHIP

Unfortunately, today people use rakes more than they use brooms. Think about it: people are obsessed with gathering and hoarding stuff. We can call them ‘Rakers’ because they go around madly gathering up piles of possessions and then stand proudly at the top of the pile. A broom is best used to push things away. A ‘Broomer’ is someone who, rather than collecting things just for themselves, is happy to put what they have in the direction of others. We need to be careful we don’t get too busy making a living that we fail to make a life!
